The New Messiah

'RADIOACTIVE RAVEN'

This project draws inspiration from the Shroud of Turin, connecting my pieces to contemporary attitudes toward artificial intelligence. It explores how AI is increasingly idolised, with some individuals placing it on a pedestal similar to that once reserved for religious figures. Its seemingly miraculous capabilities and expanding influence have led many to view it as a transformative, almost divine force.

Through the use of cyanotype, the work reflects on this sense of devotion and dependence. As people rely more heavily on AI for knowledge and decision-making, there is a suggestion that we are submitting to another form of higher authority, one that ultimately offers little beyond promise and illusion. Much like the reverence once shown to religious miracles, attention shifts away from the processes and systems that enable these technologies.

The work calls for renewed human connection, encouraging a move away from isolation and toward more meaningful, person-to-person interaction
